From the Founder

Grit. Determination. Get-up-and-go.

Ever since I was a little girl and would listen to my grandfather’s stories, talking about how he juggled two jobs (and sometimes more) to live out his American dream and support his family, I knew this work ethic was my destiny.

My parents, two unbelievably giving people, equally hustled to always make sure we had what we needed and more. They made it their mission to make sure we had better opportunities than they had growing up and could live out whatever future my sister and I dreamed to create.

Coming from many generations of hard workers and standing on the shoulders of this incredible family, I always felt a very sincere sense of obligation, of responsibility, to live up to all of the opportunities I was afforded.

I spent my whole life striving. Until I was forced to slow down. My brain ignored the signs, so my body stepped in.

So, what do you do when so many of the ways you identified yourself now seem to be in conflict with the person you’re evolving into? How can you maintain the pieces you treasure and let go of those that are no longer serving you, or worse, are actively holding you back and making you unwell?

I've struggled with these questions because here’s the thing. I like my work ethic and the drive I’ve always had, it’s what makes me… me.

I like having the answers, I love solving problems, and right now there are so many moments of uncertainty. But the previous pace was unstainable, and since learning strategies to maintain a holistically well life, I’m happier, I’m more present and I have more energy to take on this next chapter of my life and work.

So now I’m on a mission to share what I’ve learned. To teach others it’s OK to have drive and dreams, without sacrificing your wellbeing. To be determined and allowed to switch off. To achieve big things in life and enjoy the little things too.

Try this energizing recipe to kickstart your day and add gut loving fuel to your microbiome.

Base: Greek yogurt (½ cup)

Add:

  • Blueberries (generous handful)

  • Strawberries (3 cut into slices)

  • Banana (1/2)

  • Slivered almonds (1 tablespoon)

  • Pumpkin seeds (1 tablespoon)

Sprinkle:

  • Chia seeds (1 teaspoon)

  • Ground Flax (1 teaspoon)

  • Cinnamon (1 teaspoon)

Fill:

  • Kefir ( ¼ cup)

  • Splash of water

Finish:

  • Ice ( ¼ cup)

  • Honey (optional drizzle, use sparingly as honey is high in sugar)
