unBurnt™ Community Guidelines

Privacy, Safety and Terms of Use Policy when engaging in unBurnt™ Community

Effective Date: 9/9/2024

 Introduction

Welcome to the unBurnt™ Community! We are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for all members to share experiences, make genuine connections, and grow together on their wellness journey. Please read the following Privacy, Safety and Terms of Use Policy (the “Policy”) carefully, as it outlines the guidelines and principles we adhere to in order to maintain a healthy and safe environment for everyone.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for violating any of the following guidelines. If a violation occurs, it will result in an immediate and permanent removal from the Community.

1. Creating a Safe Space

Our community is built on trust, respect, and kindness. To ensure a welcoming and inclusive space for all members, we ask that you:

  • Be Respectful: Treat others with compassion and consideration. Refrain from hate speech, harassment, bullying, or discriminatory language of any kind. We do not tolerate any form of violence, hostility, or intimidation.

  • Be Supportive: Offer encouragement and understanding, especially when members share personal experiences or challenges. This is a space for growth, not judgment.

  • Respect Boundaries: Recognize that some members may choose to share more than others. Do not pressure anyone to disclose personal information or experiences.

  • Privacy of Others: Do not share the personal details, stories, or experiences of other members without their explicit consent. Our community thrives on trust, and we are committed to respecting the privacy of each individual.

2. Protecting Personal Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. Our commitment to safeguarding your personal information is a top priority:

  • Confidentiality: Your personal information, including your name, email address, and any other identifying details, will be kept strictly confidential and will not be shared with third parties without your consent.

  • Anonymity: You have the option to engage in discussions and activities anonymously. We encourage everyone to respect members’ choices in how they present themselves in the community. Slack enables anonymous posting. To share an update without your slack handle, Type /anonymous (no extra param) to open the dialog box. Type a message and click "Send". The bot will send the message without revealing your name.

  • Data Security: We utilize appropriate security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, please be aware that no system is entirely secure, and we encourage you to be cautious when sharing sensitive information.

  • Account Settings: You have full control over your account and can update your privacy settings at any time. You can also choose to leave the community and request the deletion of your account at any time.

3. Non-Solicitation Policy

To maintain the integrity of our community and focus on genuine connections, we have a strict non-solicitation policy:

  • No Commercial Promotion: Members are not allowed to use the community as a platform to promote products, services, or personal businesses without explicit permission from the community moderators. This includes unsolicited messages, advertising, or spamming.

  • No Recruitment: The community is not a space for recruiting members for external groups, organizations, or causes. Soliciting donations or memberships for causes unrelated to the wellness goals of the community is prohibited.

  • Non-Monetized Sharing: While we encourage the sharing of personal insights and resources, any content shared should be done in the spirit of mutual growth and support, not for monetary gain or personal benefit.

4. Fostering Genuine Connections

We believe in the power of authentic relationships and shared experiences. To cultivate meaningful interactions within our community, we ask that all members:

  • Engage Authentically: Share your thoughts, experiences, and advice honestly. Pretending to be someone else, providing misleading information, or misrepresenting your intentions is not allowed.

  • Give and Receive Constructive Feedback: Be open to constructive dialogue and remember that everyone’s wellness journey is unique. Offering advice should come from a place of empathy and understanding.

  • Uphold Community Values: Contribute to a positive and enriching environment by promoting kindness, understanding, and mutual respect.

5. Sharing Experiences Responsibly

We encourage members to share their personal experiences as a way to learn from one another. However, it is important to do so responsibly:

  • No Medical Advice: While it is valuable to share personal experiences regarding wellness practices, this community does not serve as a substitute for professional medical advice. Refrain from diagnosing others or suggesting medical treatments.

  • Be Mindful of Triggering Content: When sharing experiences related to sensitive topics such as trauma, mental health, or personal struggles, please include appropriate content warnings where necessary. Avoid graphic descriptions that could be harmful to others.

  • Consent: When sharing stories or experiences that involve others (friends, family members, colleagues), ensure you have their consent before including details that may identify them.

6. No Bullying or Harassment

Our community is committed to maintaining a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for all members.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of bullying, harassment, or intimidation. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • No Bullying: Any behavior that is intended to intimidate, demean, or belittle another member is strictly prohibited. This includes name-calling, malicious comments, and efforts to embarrass or humiliate others.

  • No Harassment: Repeated unwanted contact, stalking, or any other form of persistent harassment will not be tolerated. This includes both direct messages and public posts within the community.

  • Hate Speech and Discrimination: Any content that promotes hate, violence, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic is strictly forbidden.

  • Safe Reporting: If you experience or witness any bullying, harassment, or inappropriate behavior, we encourage you to report it immediately to the community moderators or directly to contact@getunburnt.com. All reports will be handled confidentially and with care, and appropriate actions will be taken to address the situation.

Violations of this policy will result in the immediate removal of offending content and will lead to permanent removal and blocking from the community. We are committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive space where everyone feels safe to share and engage.

7. No Illegal Activity

To maintain a safe and lawful environment, we strictly prohibit any form of illegal activity within our community. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Prohibited Content: Do not post, share, or discuss any content that promotes, encourages, or depicts illegal activities. This includes illegal substances, fraudulent schemes, or any form of unlawful behavior.

  • No Sharing of Illegal Materials: Sharing, requesting, or distributing copyrighted materials without permission, pirated content, or any other illegal goods and services is strictly forbidden.

  • Compliance with Laws: All members must comply with local, national, and international laws when participating in the community. Activities such as hacking, identity theft, harassment, and the exploitation of personal data are strictly prohibited.

  • Criminal Behavior: Any form of criminal conduct, including but not limited to threats of violence, child exploitation, trafficking, and acts of terrorism, will result in immediate expulsion from the community and may be reported to the relevant authorities.

We take any violation of this policy very seriously and will take immediate action, including reporting to law enforcement. Our goal is to ensure a safe, legal, and supportive environment for all members.

We reserve the right to remove any content or member that violates these guidelines. Actions may include:

  • Content Removal: Posts or messages that violate our policies may be deleted without notice.

  • Permanent Member Removal: We have a zero-tolerance policy for any violations of this policy. ANY breaches of these guidelines will result in permanent removal from the community.

12.1. Slack-Specific Guidelines

  • Compliance with Slack’s Terms of Service: All members must comply with Slack’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Any activity that violates Slack’s policies may lead to removal from the community and could result in additional action by Slack itself.

  • Appropriate Use of Channels: Please use designated channels for specific topics and avoid posting off-topic content. Ensure that your contributions align with the channel’s purpose to maintain clarity and relevance.

  • Direct Messaging (DM) Etiquette: Direct messaging between members should always be consensual. Do not send unsolicited or unwanted DMs, and respect other members' boundaries. If someone asks you to stop messaging them, you must comply immediately.

  • No Spamming: Refrain from sending repetitive or irrelevant messages, promotional materials, or unsolicited content, whether in channels or via direct messages. Spamming disrupts the community and will not be tolerated.

  • Community Data: As administrators of the community, we take reasonable measures to safeguard any personal data shared within the workspace. However, given the nature of online platforms, we cannot guarantee complete security, and recommend that members refrain from sharing highly sensitive information.

  • Anonymity and Privacy: While members can use anonymous usernames or aliases within Slack, please remember that Slack administrators and moderators may have access to identifying information. Respect others' desire for privacy and anonymity where possible.
